Route description

The mountain Around-the-World Traverse begins above the weather station’s switchbacks and heads towards Orekhovaya Pad. The Kamenka approach reaches Four Pass, followed by open ridges through Chekanovsky Peak, Poperechnaya and Mangutay. Beyond the high section comes the descent towards the Kurkavochnaya and the lakeside departure area. Its value lies in successive named mountain places and the gradual change from open uplands to river valley. This is a sustained independent journey with a remote start: arrange the Slyudyanka approach, accommodation and departure separately. Carry water for the ridge; valleys visible below do not establish an easy descent to a source.
