Route description

The walk begins at La Catedral’s foot and crosses open Llano de Ucanca. Beyond the rocky Roques de García side, the landscape opens out: Teide, Pico Viejo and Ucanca’s steep walls form the mountain setting, while the path gives time to study it from the ground. In clear weather, the coloured Los Azulejos rocks can also appear in the scenery. The ending is beside Llano de Ucanca Viewpoint on the road. Pause here and look back over the plain just crossed. This version’s pleasure lies in moving from an individual rock tower into an extensive volcanic landscape. Include the La Catedral approach and return beyond the roadside ending in your day plan beforehand.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The walk begins on the interior Roques de García side: arrange lower arrival, approach and return separately. Children need sun and wind protection and carried water. Bicycles and strollers are unsuitable for the complete walking version; dog rules and reception are unestablished.

Nearby

The full Roques de García circuit, an independent Los Azulejos walk and the continuation towards Boca Tauce need their own approaches and timing. Viewing Teide and Pico Viejo does not establish summit visits. Any ascent or rock climbing requires an independent plan.
