Route description

From El Portillo Alto’s northern side, the path leads into Teide National Park’s open landscape. It offers a chance to turn a roadside stop into an unhurried walk, study the northern volcanic scenery and notice the scale changing beyond the last buildings. Before the ending, cross the Montaña de los Tomillos path. Roque del Peral’s rocky escarpment then becomes a recognisable landmark beside the connection with La Fortaleza. The selected one-way walk ends here. Choose the return to El Portillo Alto or an independently open continuation beforehand, leaving time for quiet pauses.
