Route description

From the lower Col del Teide saddle, the Sanatorio path heads towards Siete Cañadas beneath Guajara’s slopes. As Teide recedes, its outline becomes more distinct within the broad volcanic landscape. Solidified lava forms and high-mountain shrubs invite an unhurried look around. Spring flowering may brighten open sections; local broom also supports seasonal beekeeping. The name recalls the period when a mountain sanatorium was considered for Las Cañadas and people stayed in stone huts. The medical complex itself never appeared. Today the selected walk ends on the Siete Cañadas walking way. Choose a further roadside exit or return to the beginning beforehand; it is an independent part of your park day.
