Route description

This walk begins on the lower Chatyr-Dag plateau side near Onyx. It first retraces several plateau-side approaches, then heads east and descends towards the wooded side of the highway. Repeated western passages form part of this programme. The name Red Trail does not establish visits to all nearby tourist locations: the named shelter and caves lie away from the selected line. The main experience is the transition from open karst plateau to wooded slope. It finishes on the road side, but a safe meeting place and approach must be checked. Upper Chatyr-Dag and its summits are outside this version. Navigation is needed both on the open plateau and at woodland junctions.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 41 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Plateau branches among karst hollows can be confused. Stones, roots and slippery ground are possible on the woodland descent. Repeated approaches near the start require sequence checks. Reaching the highway does not establish a permitted waiting place or road crossing.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 1 h 24 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Complete duration is unknown. Include the external plateau approach, repeated western passages and entire descent, then agree the road-side meeting. Preserve daylight.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry walking conditions with checked access and forecast. Rain complicates woodland ground and fog hides plateau junctions. Reassess the descent in snow or ice.

What to bring
