Route description

This walk begins on the mountain approach side of Luchistoye. It first heads farther south, then climbs northeast up the wooded slope towards Dzhurla. Higher up it turns around and returns along almost the same trail towards the start. This is an ascent and return on the southern approaches, rather than a complete circuit of Demerdzhi. Dzhurla Waterfall and South Demerdzhi’s summit lie beyond the selected turnaround. The Valley of Ghosts is also outside the walk. The main experience is the wooded slope gradually giving way to more open upper ground. Mapped springs should not be treated as a confirmed water supply. Check the approach from the road and current permitted passage beforehand.
