Route description

From the wooded side of Angarsky Pass, this walk heads north, passes through Yew Gorge and returns towards the road by a higher section of eastern Chatyr-Dag. It is an extended circuit with repeated passages along some trails. The wooded cleft provides the main experience in the gorge; higher up, the terrain changes to rocky slope. The upper section passes near Angar-Burun but does not reach its mapped summit itself. Start and finish lie close together near the pass, although the approach from the road needs checking. The lower plateau’s named caves and underground branches are outside the programme. In fog, distinguish the woodland return from side routes into the mountains.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1086 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Wet stones, roots and narrow woodland passages are possible in the gorge. The higher return reaches an exposed slope where wind and fog complicate trail selection. Avoid following incidental footprints towards cliff edges or cave branches. Account for repeated sections when assessing remaining strength.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 8 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Complete circuit duration is unknown. Allow for the northern woodland section, gorge passage, higher return and repeated trails. Set a latest road-side return time and preserve daylight.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry walking conditions with checked access and forecast. Rain makes the wooded cleft and upper stones slippery. Snow and ice on the higher return create different conditions from the lower forest.
