Route description

The journey from Podosinki to Shevlyagino unfolds around river valleys. The Nerskaya appears in the southern part of the outing, followed by the Sechenka and Teterka, each with its own stretch of woodland and its own banks. Between them lies enough trail to settle into an easy running rhythm and forget the clock for a while. This is a classic direction from the Afanas route collection. Take time beside the water, rest somewhere dry and continue towards a different railway platform. It suits an independent runner or walker who can navigate woodland paths and is comfortable travelling beyond continuously maintained urban paths.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Choose it for a long trail-running day in the Nerskaya basin and the gradual passage between distinct river valleys. The Nerskaya, Sechenka and Teterka provide real stopping places, while finishing in Shevlyagino avoids retracing the whole journey.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The full traverse is too long for an ordinary family outing. Railway platforms make a car-free visit practical. Suitability of the complete variation for dogs or bicycles has not been separately established. Woodland trails are unsuitable for a stroller; dependable mobile coverage is unconfirmed.

Nearby

The Nerskaya belongs to a broader network of outings between Podosinki, Antsiferovo and Zolotovo. A separate Rutrail walk follows the river towards Antsiferovo; its riverside section leads towards Chudesarium and ends at Antsiferovo.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Use Podosinki railway halt for the start and Shevlyagino halt for the finish, on the Kazan railway corridor. Check that your chosen trains stop at these platforms and note the last useful return service before leaving. Allow a short approach from the final woodland road to the actual platform.
By car
Road access brings you to the Podosinki side. Arrange vehicle retrieval in advance because the finish is at Shevlyagino: returning by train, a second driver or a separate transfer may be practical. Driving into the forest is unnecessary.
Parking
An official car park at this particular start has not been confirmed. Use a lawful space near the settlement without blocking roads or railway approaches; woodland verges should not be treated as an equipped car park.

What to expect

Places
Nerskaya River The southern part of the route approaches the Nerskaya channel, a natural place to pause before continuing towards the smaller rivers and Shevlyagino.
Sechenka River This river appears on the western side of the traverse; its distinct channel reveals that the outing crosses several river valleys.
Teterka River Another named river encountered on the approach to Shevlyagino; stop on firm ground rather than descending a wet bank.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 603 м.
SurfaceDirt 9%, Asphalt 7%, Sand 6%, Unknown 73%.
Риски The main demands are sustained running and ground that changes after rain. River approaches may include wet hollows, slippery banks and local crossings. Inspect each crossing and avoid entering water when a safe passage is unclear. At junctions, follow your planned direction rather than simply choosing the widest vehicle road.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 31 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A trained trail runner should allow about 5–7 hours including short stops; a slower pace or wet ground increases this. One-day plan: an early train to Podosinki, the river sections and a finish in Shevlyagino with a margin before the return train. Walking the full route may require roughly 9–11 hours, so choose a sufficiently long day.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer a dry spell with plenty of daylight: late spring after water levels have fallen, summer or early autumn. During spring flooding or prolonged rain, conditions in hollows and at crossings matter more than the month. The summer running variation does not imply a prepared winter ski trail.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy trail shoes and spare dry socks.
Drinking water for the whole outing and food you can eat while moving.
A downloaded map, charged phone, power bank and head torch.
Tick and mosquito protection plus a light waterproof layer.
