Route description

Bakovka begins a prolonged run in which western Moscow Region gradually becomes Moscow itself. Meshchersky Park’s woodland paths first lead towards the pond and back through green areas. Skolkovo then introduces modern urban architecture and outdoor art. Malevich’s Cipher stands near the Technopark passage, while the fairy-tale Bibigon greets walkers and runners in Novaya Tryokhgorka. Beyond the residential quarters, woodland and the Chachenka River return. The run passes the Razdory and Romashkovo side, with a pause beside Kabanya Glade before the final continuation. It ends on Kuntsevo’s town side, followed by a separate approach to Molodyozhnaya metro or chosen surface transport. This is the 2025 New Year Marathon version: a continuous long run through contrasting places, without returning to Bakovka. Its winter history does not restrict it to January; choose surfaces and weather in which you can confidently finish the whole journey.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
For runners prepared for prolonged exertion. The full marathon version is not offered as a children’s walk; choose separate park portions for family outings. Meshchersky Park requires dogs to have a collar, lead and muzzle under its operator’s rules; confirm conditions for the full continuation separately. Bicycle and stroller access throughout the woodland links is unestablished.

Nearby

Panda Park beside Meshchersky Pond, other park facilities and Technopark interiors require separate time and admission arrangements. Kuntsevo Plaza beside Molodyozhnaya can be a post-run stop after a separate urban approach. Skolkovo’s festival artworks change: the 2024 Here and Now exhibition was scheduled only until late summer 2025, so its complete display is not promised today. The earlier marathon’s catering and group support are also not services provided for this independent outing.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map

After the town finish, Partizanskaya Street 33 bus stops are nearby; select the required surface transport using the current timetable. Molodyozhnaya metro requires a separate urban approach: this run’s endpoint is not on a metro platform.
By car
Use a permitted Bakovka road side for the initial drop-off and Kuntsevo’s Partizanskaya Street side for collection. The start and finish differ, so arrange a return to any car left behind. Driving along woodland running paths is not envisaged; respect Meshchersky Park’s restrictions and barriers.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 19%, Compacted dirt 17%, Dirt 11%, Unknown 35%.
Риски A prolonged run requires familiar nutrition and spare energy, while transitions between woods and residential areas call for attention to roads and junctions. Winter surfaces may have ice or soft snow, and rain can bring mud and slippery roots. Cross railway lines and roads only at authorised crossings. Share Meshchersky Park paths considerately with visitors and athletes; avoid damaging prepared ski lanes in winter. Check present woodland connections and possible barriers before setting out.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 7 h 30 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
For a prepared runner, around 4.5–5 hours of movement is a reference for comparable surfaces; the complete outing with stops and urban return needs more spare time. This version relates to the 2025 run, so the earlier group pace does not guarantee today’s duration. Select a personal pace and spare daylight for independent use. A full walking duration is not separately established.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry, snow-free weather or stable winter conditions for which you are prepared. Snow generally reduces pace and short days make a torch especially useful. Spring mud or ice can justify reducing the workload or postponing the outing. In warm weather, use tick protection and carry extra water. The past New Year event does not constitute a current group departure.

What to bring

Water and familiar nutrition for prolonged exercise
Light waterproof and windproof clothing
Dry warm layer for returning home
Phone, spare power and saved map
Headtorch for the woodland continuation
Seasonal tick protection
