Route description

A woodland outing through the Slogavka valley links Esino with Kuzyaevo. Let the ground set the pace: run more freely on a dry road, walk beside the small river and pause at Forest Pond nearer the finish. Ending on a different railway corridor gives the journey a distinctive shape: you return to the city from a new direction. The author Afanas lists this as a running route and marks it as conditionally usable. Former water collection places have become unreliable. Bringing your own drinking water and keeping enough energy for the entire traverse are therefore part of enjoying the day. Independence in the woods matters more than speed.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
This is a sustained running traverse. The complete variation is unsuitable for an ordinary outing with children or a stroller. Rail access is available at both ends. Dog rules, suitability of every path for cycling and mobile coverage have not been separately confirmed.

Nearby

The Nerskaya lies in a different wooded direction farther south. Save the author’s Podosinki–Shevlyagino outing for another visit. Set aside another day so there is time to enjoy the river without rushing.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Start from Esino railway halt and finish at Kuzyaevo platform. They lie on different radial railway corridors: check your train to Esino and plan the separate return from Kuzyaevo. Include the initial walk to the start and a margin at the finish in your schedule.
By car
The start is on the Esino side and the finish near Kuzyaevo. A car-based visit requires an arranged return to the vehicle or a second driver. Do not plan to shorten the woodland section by driving along forest roads.
Parking
Equipped car parks serving both ends of this particular traverse have not been confirmed. Find a lawful space in the settlement before setting off and inspect local restrictions; keep railway approaches and forest entrances clear.

What to expect

Places
Slogavka River A small river on the wooded part of the journey between Esino and Kuzyaevo, where its valley offers a natural reason to ease the running pace.
Forest Pond A pond near the approach to Kuzyaevo, offering a waterside pause late in the journey; view it from the route without expecting beach facilities.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 727 м.
SurfaceDirt 26%, Sand 14%, Concrete 9%, Unknown 36%.
Риски Woodland roads and river hollows can remain wet after rain. The author specifically warns that former water collection places are unreliable and an old fire site needs reconnaissance. Do not depend on a spring, stream or campfire. Inspect local footbridges and crossings before using them: an old outing report cannot establish their present condition.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 5 h 24 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A trained runner should allow roughly 4–6 hours including pauses. One-day plan: arrive in Esino in the morning, cross the woodland and Slogavka section, pause at Forest Pond and reach Kuzyaevo before the selected train. For walking, an initial allowance of 7–9 hours is sensible, with more time on wet ground.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Prefer dry weather in late spring, summer or early autumn. Early spring and prolonged rain complicate low woodland sections. In summer allow for insects and heat; water present in a stream is not necessarily safe to drink.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy trail footwear and spare socks.
All drinking water and food, without relying on natural sources.
A downloaded map, phone, extra power and a torch.
Protection from rain, ticks and mosquitoes.
