Route description

This running version links Povarovka and Katuar through Morozovo Lake. From the Leningrad railway side it enters a long woodland passage, encounters the small lake’s northern shore and makes a southern arc through the Myshetskoye side before turning north towards Katuar. Near the lake, take time to notice the change from woodland to damp shoreline, then continue the substantial journey between two different railway lines. The outing needs experience of long runs and your own water arrangements. Reliable passage through every woodland section is unconfirmed; check damp ground, road crossings and the return train before leaving.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
This is a long running outing with woodland and a damp lake section. Conditions for children, dogs and cycling are separately unconfirmed; assess the group beforehand. The complete woodland passage is unsuitable for a stroller. Continuous mobile reception is unconfirmed.

Nearby

Dolgoye and Krugloye belong to the neighbouring lake area, but their separate shore approaches are outside this version’s confirmed visits. The ruins of Vasily Stalin’s dacha beside the Myshetskoye area lie off the actual approach; avoid entering damaged structures. The northern version through Dolgoye’s woodland side and Lytsenka Sanctuary is another passage requiring its own checked conditions. Beaches, holiday facilities and bathing need separate arrangements.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The starting side is beside Povarovka halt on the Leningrad direction. Check that the train calls at Povarovka: neighbouring Povarovo-1 is a different place. After finishing, use Katuar’s station side on the Savyolovsky direction; check the boarding platform, safe crossing and return train. The archived group departure is not a current timetable. Check both railway endings for your date before travelling.
By car
If arriving by car, choose one of the two station sides for a meeting or separately agreed vehicle arrangements beforehand. Complete the woodland passage independently on foot; vehicle delivery along it is unconfirmed. Resolve the return to your car before starting, since the ending lies on another railway line.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Ask whether you may leave a car beside the chosen starting or ending side for the outing. Proximity to a railway halt does not establish permitted vehicle space, security or unobstructed access. Agree the meeting at the other ending separately.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 381 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 30%, Improved surface 11%, Concrete 8%, Unknown 42%.
Риски Morozovo’s damp northern shore and woodland hollows after rain may require the established dry passage. Keep energy for the southern arc and final return towards Katuar during this long run. Use current authorised crossings at roads and railway approaches. A changed fence or flooded section requires fresh assessment rather than cutting through private land.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 55 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Complete duration including stops and rail travel is unconfirmed. Allow separate reserves for the lake section and final approach to Katuar. Consider your usual long-run pace and a daylight finish, then choose a return train with a margin. A stop in an old group announcement does not establish today’s independent outing time.

Best time to go
