Route description

Leave Skolkovo and finish an evening in Strogino, with a different side of Moscow’s outskirts between them. The run first passes Nemchinovka and the Chachenka Stream side, then enters woodland near Romashkovo. The winter version makes its own diversion through Beer Glade and Agregatnaya Glade before reaching High Glade, also known as Bald Hill. These actual clearings interrupt the woodland passage and offer a reason to pause for breath. The author designed this winter evening run to bypass snowdrifts using ski courses. Before setting out today, check snow conditions and permitted pedestrian passages, especially where ski lanes have been prepared. Beyond the forest, the route continues to Strogino’s urban side, followed by a separate approach to the metro. It is a point-to-point run between two transport hubs, with named woodland clearings along the way and no need to return to Skolkovo.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
For runners accustomed to prolonged exercise and winter woodland surfaces. The complete outing is not offered as a children’s walk. Dog rules and bicycle or stroller access for the entire continuation are not separately established. Observe current restrictions and other athletes wherever ski lanes have been prepared.

Nearby

Tayny Ravine lies beside one woodland connection, but a separate descent to its seasonal watercourse is not included in this winter version. Troitse-Lykovo and the Moscow River side require individually chosen approaches; estate interiors, churches and direct waterside access are not promised as compulsory stops. Allow separate time and return arrangements if you would like a post-run Strogino walk.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The departure is on the road side beside Skolkovo station on MCD-1. Approach the beginning after leaving the platform, using an authorised crossing. The finish is on Strogino’s urban side: Strogino metro requires a separate street approach. Check MCD and metro services before travelling and allow time to return after leaving the forest.
By car
Arrange a lawful road-side drop-off beside Skolkovo station. For collection after the run, use Strogino’s urban roads. The start and finish are different, so plan a return to any car left behind. Driving through the woodland clearings is not part of this outing.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Arrange a lawful Skolkovo station drop-off and a separate return from Strogino before travelling. Do not leave a vehicle beside woodland barriers or where it obstructs access.

What to expect

Places
Chachenka Stream a small watercourse beside the Nemchinovka passage; snow may conceal the water and banks in winter.
Beer Glade an actual woodland clearing used by this winter diversion.
Agregatnaya Glade the next named clearing in the woodland run.
High Glade (Bald Hill) an open part of Romashkovo Forest on the continuation towards Strogino.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 272 м.
SurfaceDirt 27%, Asphalt 27%, Improved surface 14%, Unknown 24%.
Риски Snow conditions matter more than the date: soft drifts slow running, thaw leaves slippery patches and refreezing produces ice. Historical use of ski courses does not grant permission to run along every prepared lane today. Choose permitted passages and avoid damaging ski grooves. An evening outing can put the woodland section in darkness. Use authorised road and railway crossings and check the correct direction at woodland junctions.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h 15 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Around 2–2.5 hours of movement is a reference for a prepared runner on suitable winter surfaces; soft snow and pauses increase the duration. This is an independent outing estimate rather than the published duration of a current organised departure. Add time for the platform approach, the urban walk to the metro and travel home. Start in daylight if your pace is uncertain.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose this version in winter, when snow has buried the summer woodland paths. Stable conditions with passable surfaces are preferable; postpone after heavy snowfall or during widespread ice. A different Skolkovo–Strogino path through Romashkovo exists for the snow-free season, so the summer passage should not be treated as identical to this version.
