Route description

The woodland journey from Polushkino to Chastsovskaya centres on the Setun near Sharapovo. From the railway side, local roads and forest connections lead towards the small river valley. Pause beside the water: the Setun provides the principal recognisable place in the middle of the running day. The forest continuation then reaches the Mashchenki side before heading to the village approach above Chastsovskaya. Choose this option if you already navigate Moscow-area woodland confidently. Independent travel lets you time the river pause to your own pace, while requiring advance checks of gates and the railway underpass near Mashchenki. Finish with a separate approach to the return-train platform.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Spend a day on the woodland side of Sharapovo and discover its local Setun between two railway points. This option combines a running session with a river pause, without the long extension through Karinskoye. Choose it when forest junctions and a small valley appeal more than the road option towards Teatralnaya.

Nearby

The Vasilyevskoye Shcherbatov estate lies on the sanatorium side, away from the main forest passage. A visit requires separate entry and timing checks. Sources and former group rest places near the Setun do not guarantee drinking water, maintained facilities or permission to light a fire. This small countryside Setun is distinct from the river of the same name in Moscow.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Arrive at Polushkino railway stop and use a permitted exit towards the start north of the railway. Return from Chastsovskaya railway stop, requiring a separate approach from the final village section. Check your specific trains and available crossings. The intermediate 199 km railway stop is not an established backup exit; its approach and an operating train need separate checks.
By car
Arrange a drop-off on the accessible village side of Polushkino and collection towards Chastsovskaya. The woodland section does not have confirmed continuous vehicle support. A car left at the start needs separate collection. Use private and allotment entrances only with permission.
Parking
No verified long-stay parking exists at either end. Check a permitted location separately and keep railway approaches clear. Parking beside sanatorium or allotment land should not be treated as public without checking its conditions.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 409 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 36%, Dirt 10%, Improved surface 9%, Unknown 31%.
Риски Check passage at gates on the starting side, in the middle woodland and before Belozyorovo. Confirm an operating pedestrian crossing at the Setun; a nearby mapped bridge does not guarantee access or condition. The Mashchenki side has a mapped road passage below the railway that can flood. If it is closed or water obstructs passage, use a separately verified permitted exit without entering the railway line. Rain can leave woodland hollows and dirt connections wet.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 4 h 42 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Retain a full daylight outing with time for forest junctions, the river pause, access checks and the return train. No verified overall duration exists. Establish gate access, the Setun crossing and the road underpass before travelling. Revise the selected section and return transport beforehand if any connection remains unconfirmed.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry, cool weather suits woodland running and a small-river pause. Following prolonged rain, check the road underpass and wet forest ground especially carefully. Spring calls for crossing-water checks, while winter requires attention to ice and path visibility. Short daylight leaves less time to find a permitted continuation.
