Route description

This large loop from the Iksha side reveals the Moscow region as a setting for a demanding running journey: woodland roads give way to open fields, and the western arc meets the Sestra twice. The returning side briefly crosses the eastern edge of the Garskoye woodland sanctuary; the opening side has a separate Klubish crossing. It is the historical 100milesRUSSIA direction prepared by Mikhail Afanasenkov and Mikhail Kolodiy for Dmitry Erokhin’s event. The author now classifies it as outdated. A prepared group should choose it after checking the complete passage, river crossings and current access boundaries. Its appeal comes from changing regional landscapes and the substantial return to the starting side; food, rest and assistance need separate organisation.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Experience of long woodland outings, independent provision and access checks throughout the arc are needed. Conditions for children, dogs and bicycles have not been researched separately. Continuous reception throughout the loop is unconfirmed.

Nearby

Iksha’s railway platform is outside the loop’s opening section and needs an approach. The Moscow Canal and a vehicle-testing area appear in the participant’s historical account, but specific current approaches and permissions are separately unconfirmed; their services and visits are not promised. The former event’s food stations and assistance are outside an independent journey. Central Dmitrov and Lake Senezh have not been added as sightseeing stops on this loop.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Rail travel to Iksha can be arranged on the Savyolovsky direction. The required platform needs an additional urban approach to the loop’s start; choose current authorised crossings. Allow for this approach again after returning. Check actual train calls and return times against your own plan.
By car
Arrange a vehicle meeting on the Iksha side after agreeing a suitable location. The loop makes a return to the starting side convenient, but roads inside the large circuit do not establish permitted vehicle support. Check any entry to private or service land and possible assistance points separately.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Ask whether you may leave a car in Iksha for the whole outing. A participant’s historical vehicle arrival does not establish a permitted location today. Agree collection after returning separately.

What to expect

Places
Klubish River A woodland river crossing on the opening western side of the loop. The Klubish belongs to the Volgusha system; spring and summer conditions differ, so check the crossing before departure.
Two Sestra River crossings The western arc meets the Sestra twice before the loop returns towards Iksha. This is part of the extensive Moscow-region river system rising at Senezh; check each crossing separately.
Garskoye Forestry Spruce and Pine Forests Sanctuary A brief passage through the eastern edge of this officially named woodland sanctuary on the returning side of the loop. Keep to the existing passage and check current visiting conditions.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1026 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 34%, Dirt / grass 7%, Dirt 5%, Unknown 44%.
Риски Assess the Klubish crossing and both Sestra crossings separately: current water levels and the established crossing method need to be known before departure. Rain can make woodland and field ground considerably slower. Check this outdated passage beforehand for closed access, changed roads and private boundaries. Entry to testing or service land along an old sporting direction needs confirmed permission; arrange your own assistance and exit options.

How much time to allow

A day-by-day plan is not established. Complete duration, overnight locations and suitable daily stages are unconfirmed. Choose an individual multi-day plan with checked stops, water and food supplies, reserves for the rivers and agreed options to finish early. The historical continuous running event is not a ready-made touring timetable.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Reliable passage dates for the complete loop are unconfirmed. Choose a period after checking woodland and field ground, river levels and present access. A participant described the former rainy summer event as difficult because of mud; that account does not establish today’s conditions. Safe winter ice and skiing passage are separately unconfirmed.

Базовый список для комфортного похода
