Route description

The 2018 Green Lungs of Moscow option is a long run from Volokolamskaya through the western woods to Strogino. Beyond Anikeevka it heads towards Petrovo-Dalneye, passes Bykov Pond and reaches the Moscow River. Woodland valleys south of the river lead into the return through the Odintsovo side, Razdory and Troitsa-Lykovo. Water and open banks alternate with shaded forest passages before the final streets provide a definite sense of arrival. The park section now also offers a later addition: MishMash’s Central Forest Oracle. The entire historic option needs revision before being repeated, however. Its author reports changes to the military-area passage near Anikeevka. Replace that section with a verified permitted alternative and check the other connections. A separately planned accessible section makes a better introduction; the complete run is for experienced ultra runners.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Discover how western Moscow’s woodland belts connect through small river valleys and the broad Moscow River. Bykov Pond and the Petrovo-Dalneye bridge provide waterside pauses, the Medvenka offers a quieter woodland setting, and Malevich Park adds contemporary art. Once access and alternatives are checked, these places can form a rewarding long training outing with different starting and finishing points.

Nearby

The rocket monument beside the former Anikeevka passage is not a confirmed unrestricted stop; access to its grounds is controlled. Markov Crater was the name of a shared break location in the old announcement; a meteorite origin and a precise independent visit are unverified. The Troitsa-Lykovo churches can be considered as separate additions after checking opening arrangements. Other Malevich Park installations need their own side paths; the entire art walk is not included in this run.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Start beside exit 1 of Volokolamskaya metro. The finish is on Tallinskaya Street in Strogino; allow a separate pavement approach to entrance 7 of Strogino metro. Both stations are on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. Anikeevka was the start of a shorter run in the historic announcement, which is a different option; the old event timetable is not current travel information.
By car
For the complete crossing, arrange a drop-off near Volokolamskaya metro and collection in Strogino. If leaving a car at the start, plan the return separately. Woodland connections, restricted roads and the Moscow River pedestrian bridge do not provide a vehicle-support itinerary.
Parking
City parking 9211 is near the starting metro station. Check charges, opening arrangements and space for the full outing with Moscow Parking. Finishing in Strogino requires a separate return to the car. No verified parking is established at the endpoint; choose any collection place according to current road signs.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 775 м.
SurfaceDirt 24%, Asphalt 23%, Gravel 3%, Unknown 44%.
Риски The complete outing requires a permitted replacement for the changed military-area passage near Anikeevka. The author’s Generalskoye–Novinki alternative needs a separate current check. Do not enter restricted grounds or pass closed gates. Confirm the condition and opening of the Petrovo-Dalneye bridge rather than assuming year-round access. Southern woodland sections contain damp hollows and awkward descents. At road junctions, use separate permitted pedestrian passages; a nearby carriageway is not a running path. Share Malevich Park with walkers and follow current rules on sporting facilities. At Lazutinka, use the designated running side and direction; dogs are prohibited on the sporting piste.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 12 h 18 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The complete historical option was a one-day ultra run. Timings for a short walk or the shorter running group do not apply. No verified overall time is available for a present-day repetition. Check alternative passages, bridge access, exit options and daylight reserves before planning your pace and stops. A shorter independent outing to selected places is easier to prepare than the whole crossing.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry ground, cool weather and long daylight suit a revised running plan. Autumn rain and spring water make ravines and river hollows harder. Winter river access is unconfirmed, and walking on Lazutinka’s prepared winter ski pistes is prohibited. Even in good weather, first check restricted passages and the bridge.
