Route description

This long outing links Ashukinskaya on the Yaroslavsky railway direction with Morozki on the Savyolovsky line. Pause near the start beside the Mother of God Seeking the Lost chapel, then continue through the settlement and woodland surroundings north of Moscow. It belongs to the running outings associated with Mikhail Afanasenkov’s group. This route family has seasonal variants, so another participant’s clean-asphalt report should not be applied to every turning on your own passage. Distribute effort for the journey to the other railway line and allow time to find the correct path. A Muranovo museum visit needs a separate time allowance. Finish beside Morozki and return using a different railway direction.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
This is a long running outing for prepared participants. With children, choose an independently shortened variant and adult supervision; the complete passage is unsuitable as a first outing. Complete bicycle suitability and dog rules are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Muranovo’s main house can be visited with an additional approach near the eastern part of the passage; the museum requires a guide and separate admission. The shorter Ashukinskaya–Khlyby outing finishes earlier and omits the continuation toward Morozki.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Begin beside Ashukinskaya on the Yaroslavsky direction and finish beside Morozki on the Savyolovsky line. The organiser describes rail approaches at both ends. Check current trains and the final return service; old club departure times are historical, not a present timetable.
By car
Confirmed information about direct visitor-car access to both endpoints is unavailable. Arrange delivery and collection at different meeting points, and do not expect to support runners along woodland roads.
Parking
Confirmed current parking information beside both stations is unavailable. If leaving a vehicle near the beginning, arrange storage and a separate journey back to it after finishing.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 281 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 40%, Gravel 12%, Compacted dirt 9%, Unknown 26%.
Риски The duration requires water, food and an energy reserve. Road sections alternate with places where junction choice and surface checks matter; rain does not allow a promise of dry passage. Historical club variants can differ in direction and condition. Check a real permitted path across sparse or unclear portions beforehand, and use designated road and railway crossings.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 6–8 h running
With stops | 8–10 h This is for the full running passage to Morozki, excluding trains. Walking requires roughly ten to twelve moving hours; a relaxed walk is better split over two separate days with intermediate exits arranged beforehand. The selected variant does not itself provide those exits or accommodation.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
For a first complete outing, choose dry weather and a long daylight window. The author’s autumn running variants responded to mud or limited snow, but that does not guarantee today’s surface. Ice or deep snow calls for a shorter independently checked outing.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy woodland running shoes and clothing for the forecast.
Water and food for a long outing, rain protection and a small first-aid kit.
An offline map, a phone with spare power, a light for delays and a checked return train.
