Route description

The traverse from Podosinki to Zolotovo reveals several sides of the Nerskaya landscape. The opening section passes Nerskoye Lake, the route later encounters the Guslitsa and other river stretches, and farther south it approaches the Nerskaya’s new channel. Water returns throughout the journey, with enough woodland road between stops for a substantial running adventure. This long direction from the Afanas collection suits someone who enjoys spending a whole day moving. Its appeal lies in gradual changes of place: the lake falls behind, another river takes its turn and only later does the final approach to Zolotovo begin. Save energy early so the last woodland sections remain enjoyable.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Choose a substantial independent running journey between two railway platforms. Nerskoye Lake, the Guslitsa and the Nerskaya’s new channel give it a particular river theme, while Zolotovo provides a different railway branch for the journey home.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
The complete distance is for a trained runner, rather than an ordinary outing with children. Rail access can serve both ends. Suitability of the entire traverse for dogs or bicycles is unconfirmed. A stroller is unsuitable for woodland paths and river approaches; mobile coverage is unknown.

Nearby

A shorter independent Rutrail outing follows the Nerskaya from Podosinki to Antsiferovo. Choose it separately if you want a less demanding day. Its riverside section visits Chudesarium, a woodland clearing with a tree house best viewed from the ground.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Access the starting side from Podosinki platform and the finish from Zolotovo platform. They lie on different branches of the Kazan railway corridor. Check individual trains, stopping patterns and your evening margin in advance rather than relying on a last-minute sprint to the train.
By car
A vehicle transfer can reach settlements on the starting or finishing side. Arrange retrieval separately because the traverse connects Podosinki with Zolotovo. Do not assume that the woodland section can be driven through.
Parking
A dedicated car park confirmed for this variation’s start has not been found. Choose a lawful space near the settlement and inspect signs before leaving. Keep forest entrances, waterside access and railway approaches clear.

What to expect

Places
Nerskoye Lake A lake near the initial woodland section from Podosinki, offering a distinct waterside pause before continuing along the river sections.
Guslitsa River The Guslitsa channel is encountered in the eastern part of the journey; check the approach carefully instead of choosing a crossing merely because the opposite bank looks close.
Nerskaya New Channel In the southern part of the traverse the route approaches the section mapped as the Nerskaya’s new channel, adding another river encounter before Zolotovo.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 660 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 24%, Dirt 12%, Dirt / grass 2%, Unknown 62%.
Риски Sustained travel requires enough energy, food and water. Inspect approaches and crossings at the rivers: a crossing mentioned in an older sporting description does not establish its present condition. Avoid a doubtful passage during high water or after heavy rain. Wet hollows, tall grass and junctions can slow even a well-trained runner.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 8 h 33 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
An experienced trail runner should initially allow 7–10 hours including stops, adjusted to personal pace on unpaved ground. One-day plan: arrive early at Podosinki, visit Nerskoye Lake and the eastern river section, continue towards the Nerskaya’s new channel and finish in Zolotovo with time before the train. Walking the entire traverse needs a very long day. At an ordinary walking pace, choose a shorter separate route rather than racing the last train.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
A dry spell with long daylight is the most practical choice. Spring flooding, prolonged rain and short autumn days increase the risk of delays at the rivers. In summer account for heat, insects and water consumption; swimming is not an essential part of the outing.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Well-tested trail footwear, dry socks and a light waterproof layer.
Drinking water and enough food for a sustained outing.
A phone with a downloaded map, power bank and head torch.
Repellent, a small first-aid kit and protection against chafing.
