Route description

The woods between Rzhavki and Mendeleevo offer different outings as the seasons change. The summer branch follows forest clearings and the edge of Mendeleevo towards Shkolnoye, a small woodland lake away from the town streets. Continue towards the Leningrad Highway exit, with a separate approach to the Bayonets memorial if you wish. Pause by the lake before returning to the bustle of the suburbs. The winter alternative leads into another part of the forest, closer to a chain of small lakes. Choose it only with suitable snow conditions and current information about the ski trail. The summer walk and winter alternative need separate plans: they do not combine into a ready-made circuit. Select the seasonal branch, check current passage and arrange your return before leaving.

Nearby

The Bayonets memorial commemorates Moscow’s defenders; its forecourt needs a separate short approach from the woodland exit. Zubovskoye and Alyonushkino lakes lie near the winter branch, but confirmed shore approaches are outside this variant. The MAI clearing and the view towards Klushino Hill require a separate excursion across the Klyazma. Check passage and the return beforehand.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Bus 1350 runs from Khovrino metro towards Mendeleevo, replacing the former 350. It serves Rzhavki and Rzhavki-2 on the Leningrad Highway. Choose the stop, walking approach and return service for your selected branch. The winter alternative begins and ends inside the woods, so bus travel does not cover its full approach.
By car
For the summer walk, arrange a permitted drop-off in Rzhavki or Mendeleevo using the roads from the Leningrad Highway, then continue on foot. For the winter alternative, work out the woodland approach and return separately. Do not assume road access to each lake.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Identify a permitted place for an extended stay near your chosen departure, checking local signs. Keep courtyard entrances and forest access clear. Your plan for a seasonal branch must include returning to the vehicle.

Small Woodland Lake East of Zubovskoye a separate little lake beside the winter alternative.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 85 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Some older forest passages need renewed checking. At the lakes, follow existing shore paths without cutting across water or boggy margins. The winter branch can be waterlogged in summer, while clearings may contain tall vegetation and fallen trees. Use only permitted pedestrian crossings at the Leningrad Highway exits. Cycling is possible only on some portions, with walking required elsewhere.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 5 h 27 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Choose the summer outing or a currently passable winter alternative for one visit. A single duration covering every part is not established. Identify the accessible entry, exit and bus return first, then divide daylight between woodland walking and pauses by the water. Add the Bayonets memorial separately. Do not assume every branch can be completed during one outing.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose the summer branch after dry weather. The winter alternative needs suitable snow and recent information about the ski trail; regular grooming is unconfirmed. Reduce your plans during thaws, high water or prolonged rain. Frozen lakes are not treated as walking shortcuts.

Footwear for wet forest soil
Drinking water and a snack
