Route description

These separate Great Baikal Trail sections head from the Chyornaya-valley shore side towards Listvyanka. Departure lies southwest of Bolshiye Koty; the subsequent sections encounter wooded slopes, descents to Baikal and the Vitaly Dementyev memorial. The final section reaches Listvyanka’s village surroundings. Continuous connections between every local section are unconfirmed, so select accessible passage after checking with the park. This is not the complete Listvyanka–Bolshoye Goloustnoye route. On 12 October 2026, reopening after the bear-related closure of 4 September is unconfirmed; departure requires confirmed admission.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
The park confirms public access from Irkutsk to Listvyanka. This serves the ending-side village and does not reach the shore-side departure near Chyornaya valley. Arrange the distant approach or boat drop-off independently after reopening, establishing a current service and safe landing.
By car
Listvyanka is reached by the Baikal road. Lower village drop-off does not establish driving access to the Chyornaya-side departure. Determine the separate walking approach and final collection for your chosen outing.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Agree vehicle storage in Listvyanka before travelling; return depends on the independently selected approach. Vehicle parking at the shore-side departure is unconfirmed.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 588 м.
SurfaceDirt 1%, Unknown 99%.
Риски Establish woodland connections between separate sections and narrow coastal passage conditions beforehand. Waves, wet stones, loose rock and autumn ice may affect access. The old lower cliff-side path near Listvyanka is prohibited; use an agreed wooded approach. Ending fire restrictions does not remove the separate bear-related restriction.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 5 h 8 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Complete duration is unconfirmed. First establish selected connections and Chyornaya-side access, then plan the day’s outing and return to Listvyanka. Standard Bolshiye Koty trail times are not the duration of this westbound variant.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
After reopening, prefer a dry snow-free day without strong lake wind. Finish the selected autumn section before dark and check for ice. In winter, accessible village passages do not establish safety on distant coastal slopes.
