Route description

Babiy Kamen is a waterfall outing on the wooded side of the Topolovy Ridge. This version begins at a road branch, follows the lower woodland side near Karymshina and reaches a separate ascent towards the cascades. After the quieter approach, the final path requires attention to wet ground and rocky ledges. The waterfall completes the outward part, leaving the woodland return ahead. Arrange access to the nature monument and passage along the construction road before travelling. With the return settled, you can give the cascade stop and forest surroundings your attention.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy Confidence on steep wet ground is needed. Supervise children on the final branch and assess a safe descent before approaching the water. Visiting conditions with dogs need confirmation. Unreliable reception cannot support a last-minute meeting.

Nearby

The Karymshina base belongs to the external access arrangements; accommodation, meals and bathing there require separate booking. The waterfall shares its name with the Babiy Kamen Mountain nature monument, but this outing does not ascend its summit. Other thermal places on the Paratunka side require separate journeys. Leave stones and plants in place and observe wildlife from a distance.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Direct regular services to the woodland start are unconfirmed. Arrange a transfer from the Termalny side or an organised group outing with a return journey. Confirm the exact road branch and permitted drop-off. No separate transport exit is established at the waterfall.
By car
The external approach follows the construction road from Termalny towards Vilyuchinsky Pass, then branches towards Karymshina’s woodland side. Arrange the road pass under current Ustoy-M conditions and separately obtain the nature-monument permit through the park. Check vehicle suitability for the forest road; the final waterfall branch is on foot.
Parking
The regional guide identifies parking at the Karymshina base. It lies beside the individual woodland passage, so include the remaining approach separately. Agree permission to leave the vehicle, charges and current entry with the base beforehand. Keep narrow woodland roads clear.

Риски The waterfall sign leads onto a narrow branch with steep sections. Water makes ground and rock slippery; assess the safe return before descending towards the cascades. The guide mentions a rope beside the approach, but its current presence and strength are unconfirmed. Construction traffic and restrictions affect the external road.

How much time to allow

Plan a daytime woodland outing with a separate return from the waterfall. Complete duration is unconfirmed. Allow for road-access checks, the approach from your chosen parking, the final walking branch and an unhurried cascade stop. Retain daylight for the steep return section and entire woodland passage.

Best time to go
