Route description

The lower path of the Moglayn-Gol approach traverses a wooded slope before reaching fields on the Khoyto-Gol side. This version starts in the upper woodland and runs downhill. Along the way, the Ulan-Gol River provides a specific natural landmark within the long slope passage. The exit suits walkers interested in the foothills themselves: following changes in the slope, finding the path and gradually returning to open ground. Lake Moglayn-Gol lies above this version’s start. Visiting it requires an additional approach, so the woodland stage should not be chosen in expectation of a lakeshore visit or an ascent of Altan-Mundarga.

What to expect

Places
Ulan-Gol at the path crossing — The mountain river crossing is identified by the author of this particular path. It is a real river encounter on the woodland traverse; depth, flow and present passage need reassessment.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 3 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The wooded traverse requires careful navigation. Continuous passage between individual sections is unconfirmed at present. Reassess water and crossing conditions at the Ulan-Gol: an old passage establishes no safe ford today. Wet ground, vegetation and prolonged descents can be tiring. Avoid cutting down the slope into an unfamiliar riverbed.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 2 h 19 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan an independent one-way woodland stage with spare daylight. A verified duration is not established. Reaching the upper start, visiting the lake and travelling onward from the field-road finish are additional. Choose a turn-around time or fallback plan beforehand, since no complete circuit is provided.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose snow-free conditions based on fresh information about the path and water. After rain, reassess the Ulan-Gol crossing and lower roads. In autumn, allow for cold and a short day. A historical June passage establishes no equivalent conditions in another year; winter preparation is unconfirmed.
