Route description

Egyptian and Trudny passes lead from the upper Left Kyngarga towards the Belokopytka lakes. The start is already in the mountains, requiring a separately prepared approach from Arshan. A grassy ascent to Egyptian Pass crosses towards Fedyushkina River. Its source lake provides the first quiet water setting among slopes before the journey climbs towards another pass. Trudny separates Fedyushkina from the upper Belokopytka lakes. This version selects a descent needing careful examination: the author explicitly described it as suboptimal, followed by an awkward lake approach over an additional rise. Treating it as a prepared easy path would be misleading. The lake side combines open stone slopes, water and the forest boundary; confirm stopping and overnight conditions in advance. A separate ridge section above Belokopytka then returns towards Left Kyngarga. The complete link from the lake-side ending to the start of this section is outside the variant and needs an independently prepared safe permitted approach. If that connection is unconfirmed, choose a separate prepared section with its own return. Suitable visibility reveals the lake area and neighbouring mountain cirques from the ridge. The descent returns to forest and Kyngarga. The lower way passes Durakov Peak and White Rock, finishing on Arshan’s river side. Continuation to an actual transport meeting point remains a separate arrangement.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
For lakes reached across two different pass sides. Fedyushkina’s source lake follows Egyptian Pass, while upper Belokopytka presents another mountain water landscape beyond Trudny. The ridge section reveals the lake area from above before exchanging it for Kyngarga woodland. This is a varied mountain outing for a group prepared to establish its difficult connections independently.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - With caution By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data For an experienced self-sufficient walking group skilled on steep grassy and scree slopes, choosing gullies and assessing snow. This version is unsuitable for a family walk from Arshan. With a dog, consider descents, water and the national park’s requirement to control the animal; verify suitability throughout separately. Mobile reception and assistance throughout are unestablished.

Nearby

Piramida, Obzornaya and Tarakanov Pass lie beside mountain sections, but their separate ascents and the Tarakanov crossing are outside this variant. Oreol and Karamba belong to other lake-area continuations. Kyngarga’s First Waterfall lies near the lower way. Check its precise permitted viewing approach independently: proximity to the river or a viewpoint does not establish descent to the water or crossing between banks. Do not automatically add other waterfalls. Arshan’s mineral springs, older larches, museum and other attractions may complement the trip after the mountain return. Each needs a separate village-side branch; tree ages and operating services require independent evidence. Agree lake-side and forest-cirque overnight conditions in advance. Earlier camps do not establish permitted permanent occupation, drinking water or supplied accommodation. View additional lakes from permitted bank approaches, without assumed bathing.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Direct public transport to the mountain start is unconfirmed. Arshan is the regional organising side, followed by a separately prepared walking approach to upper Left Kyngarga. The return ends on the village’s river side; agree continuation to the boarding point and check current return travel in advance. Calling the original journey a weekend outing does not establish a transport timetable or vehicle approach to the passes.
By car
Plan to leave a vehicle at an agreed Arshan-side place. Vehicle access to the mountain start, lakes or upper ridge is unestablished. Prepare the walking approach and a lower meeting point after returning beside Kyngarga. Avoid directing vehicles onto riverside paths or assuming the lake overnight place is a vehicle camp.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Agree vehicle storage in the village before the mountain approach. Earlier Left Kyngarga and lake-side rest places are unconfirmed as parking. Choose a separate vehicle-accessible departure meeting point.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1311 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Egyptian Pass has a steep grassy side and a scree descent towards Fedyushkina. Wet grass, snow and unstable small stones alter difficulty. Earlier participants’ confidence does not establish present conditions. The leader chooses equipment and safety arrangements for the actual slopes. The selected Trudny descent is suboptimal. Examine rocky sections, neighbouring gullies and the lake approach before departure. Earlier successful passage does not guarantee a safe descent without protection. Omit the section or prepare a separately permitted variant if a suitable line is absent. The full connection from the lakes to the ridge section is unestablished. Confirm a manageable safe ascent and return option beforehand; otherwise prepare an independent section with an early finish. Visibility, stone stability, snow and weather reserve matter on the crest. Reassess Kyngarga banks, confined sections, river crossings and bypass conditions. Avoid entering the channel below cliffs without a prepared continuation. Keep away from edges and slippery approaches at Durakov Peak and White Rock. Obtain required Tunkinsky National Park visit permission, confirm mountain access and agree overnight places.

How much time to allow

Расчётное время в пути 8 h 52 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The full time and a confirmed daily plan for a new multi-day journey are unestablished. Prepare the Arshan approach, Egyptian and Trudny crossings to the lakes, missing connection to the ridge section and Kyngarga return separately. This is a preparation sequence, not a ready daily schedule. The earlier weekend outing and lake overnight do not promise the same pace for another group. Agree water, overnight places, a weather reserve and early return. Register the mountain journey with EMERCOM and arrange check-in messages.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Stable warmer-season conditions after present checks of pass slopes, the lake-side ascent and river connections. Snow and ice may already complicate Egyptian and Trudny in autumn. Avoid choosing them by calendar alone. Reassess wet grass, scree and Kyngarga’s confined banks after rain; omit the open ridge in fog or thunderstorms. A winter repeat is unverified and needs a separate mountain and avalanche plan.
