Route description

Here, Brest Region unfolds through roads that connect river crossings with the history of small villages. Leaving Brest, the cyclist encounters the Lesnaya before reaching rural sections around the Lyutaya and Stashovka. Near Pashuki, St Andrew Church deserves attention: its exterior introduces the first of the circuit’s two religious references. Kamenyuki marks the northern part of the journey near Bialowieza Forest. Continuing towards Verkhovichi brings a surviving granary beside the road. Such modest farm buildings add another layer to a district usually remembered for its forest and famous tower. The course then turns south, encounters the Lesnaya again and approaches the monastery complex in Khmelevo. A quiet stop beside the monastery can give the return journey its own point of interest; arrange access to the grounds separately. Zhabinka links the final road section with Brest. This variant corresponds to the Brest brevet of 2026 and covers similar localities to the spring circuit of 2024. Experience with sustained independent riding is required. Before repeating the whole circuit, confirm present permitted passage at the service connection north of Brest and the necessary conditions for visiting the border zone.

Nearby

The Verkhovichi granary is an exterior reference, without assurance of safe entry or an operating museum. Kamenets Tower and the central streets of Kamenets require a separate visit. Arrange the Bialowieza Forest museum, animal enclosures and visitor routes independently. Agree temple and Khmelevo monastery-courtyard access with the receiving institution. Former control shops do not replace checks of today’s services. This is a related variant of the Brest circuit from 2024, with a separate title and publication history.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Brest Central is the confirmed station reference for arrival. Allow for a separate urban approach between the railway platform and the fuel-station beginning. Agree bicycle carriage, boarding and your train’s timetable with the operator. Leave a margin before departure after returning: sightseeing and agreed alternatives may delay the finish.
By car
The start and return reference is the area of Fuel Station No 17 at 20 Aviatsionny Lane. Follow the currently permitted road arrangement and agree where to unload bicycles beforehand. The fuel station’s presence does not establish all-day vehicle storage. Arrange collection along regional roads and support-vehicle access separately.
Parking
A confirmed place for your vehicle is unavailable. Before travelling, establish where it may remain throughout the outing and obtain the site owner’s agreement. The former brevet’s arrangements do not guarantee parking conditions today. Check additional vehicle-storage requirements within the border zone.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 63%, Paving stones 2%, Dirt 2%, Unknown 28%.
Риски The circuit requires sustained cycling fitness, the ability to repair a fault and attention around motor traffic. Access is restricted at a service connection north of Brest; present permitted passage for the full course is not established. Confirm a lawful alternative, traffic directions at junctions and currently equipped crossings. Widely spaced references do not permit shortcuts through fields or across railway lines. Kamenyuki and Verkhovichi encounter the border zone. Foreign visitors permanently residing outside Belarus need a travel identity document and the relevant pass, while citizens and residents use the documents provided for them. Establish the permissible whole variant and affected area first.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 18 h 24 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Verified route time is not established. The 2026 brevet used a one-day format, with a morning start and an evening finish closure. Those regulations do not determine an independent visitor’s pace. Allow for food, sightseeing, rest, repairs and confirmed permitted alternatives in your own plan. A journey over several days requires separate accommodation and stage arrangements.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
For an independent outing, choose dry roads, settled weather and sufficient daylight. The brevet’s March date belongs to a specific event and does not guarantee ice-free conditions in another year. Wind may affect exposed areas, while rain changes conditions along forest sections. Documents and permitted passage need checking regardless of the season.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода

Working front and rear lights
Repair tools, a spare tube and pump
Drinking water and food until the next confirmed services
Windproof and waterproof clothing
