Route description

The Brest variant of 2025 connects Khmelevo and Verkhovichi with the western road through Vysokoye. Its beginning introduces the rural side of the region: Khmelevo’s monastic ensemble appears beside the way, followed by Lesnaya and Stashovka crossings. An exterior stop at the monastery provides the first historic reference; church and grounds entry require separate arrangements. The Kamenets side leads towards Verkhovichi, where a historic granary stands beside the road—a surviving reminder of the estate region’s working life. Beyond Verkhovichi, this variant turns towards Vysokoye, gradually exchanging woodland for western rural roads. Former Bonifrat monastery buildings remain at the entrance from Volchin. Notice them from the road, leaving a detailed town and palace-park exploration for a separate walk. The Pulva adds a river reference to this section before the circuit returns towards Brest. Monastic architecture, an old farm building and western small-town roads give the variant its character. This is a demanding independent outing: confirm permitted connections, protected and border-area access, food and return arrangements before departure.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 66%, Paving stones 2%, Compacted dirt 2%, Unknown 25%.
Риски Endurance, independent repairs, working lights and attention on vehicle roads are necessary. Restricted service sections occur north of Brest and around Vysokoye; present connections on the Kamenets section also need checking. Lawful complete passage has not been confirmed. Before departure, agree permitted alternatives, railway crossings and the affected Bialowieza roads. Foreign visitors permanently residing outside Belarus need a travel identity document and a border-zone pass under State Border Committee rules; separate requirements apply to citizens and residents. This outing crosses no international border.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 18 h 27 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Verified route time is not established. The historic format was a one-day cycling brevet with a morning start and evening finish closure. Its sporting deadline does not replace a personal plan for present conditions. Allow for exterior stops, food, repairs, weather and permitted alternatives. Dividing the journey over several days requires separate stages and confirmed accommodation.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose settled weather without snow or ice. The historic April event does not establish year-round access. The open western section is exposed to wind; woodland conditions depend on rain and surfaces. Returning at dusk requires working lights; check access and documents for your chosen date.
