Route description

Lyskovo, Porozovo and Kamenets reveal three different chapters of western Belarus on this journey. Lyskovo draws attention to the walls of Holy Trinity Church and the former Missionaries’ Monastery building. Porozovo introduces a stone synagogue and Trinity Church, while Kamenets offers a pause among old town facades. Rural roads, woodland sections and river crossings link them together. From Brest, the course heads first towards the Mukhavets, then by the Pruzhany side to Lyskovo. The northern branch reaches the Volkovysk area before returning to Porozovo and continuing to the Narew. Kamenets comes on the homeward section: the columns of the former Ossovsky Pharmacy and Vigutov House recall the town’s trading past. The journey then stretches west towards the Pulva before closing in Brest. This is the original April version of the 2022 Brest circuit. It retains its own northern passage and woodland connections, subsequently refined by the organisers. A measured independent itinerary with accommodation arranged in advance gives these small-town buildings the attention they deserve.

Nearby

Kamenets Tower, Bogudenki estate and the historic streets of Vysokoye can form a separate programme. Grounds and interior visits need extra time and access checks. Karpiński’s grave beside the Lyskovo church requires a separate approach. Former brevet rest points do not establish current accommodation, shopping or drinking water.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Use Brest Central for railway arrival. The beginning at the Aviatsionny Lane fuel station needs a separate approach. Check suitable trains and bicycle carriage before leaving. As the journey returns to Brest after an extensive circuit, allow a margin between your intended finish and train departure.
By car
The beginning is beside Fuel Station No 17 at 20 Aviatsionny Lane. Arrange meeting and drop-off according to present signs. Agree support on the western branch and near Porozovo at permitted locations in advance; a mapped road does not establish unrestricted vehicle access to protected woodland.
Parking
Present parking has not been confirmed. Arrange an agreed location in Brest and the permitted period of leaving your car. The fuel station is a starting reference; longer vehicle stays on its premises have not been independently established.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 76%, Paving stones 5%, Compacted dirt 3%, Unknown 11%.
Риски Lawful complete passage in present conditions has not been established. Check the original woodland connections, western service-road sections and the departure from Brest separately. Identify permitted alternatives in advance; an old sporting event does not remove restrictions on private or service approaches. Vehicle roads demand attention, lights and reserves of energy. Check Bialowieza and border-zone visiting rules: foreign visitors permanently residing outside Belarus require a travel identity document and the relevant pass; citizens and residents follow their own document requirements. No national border is crossed. View ruin walls from outside.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 1 d 12 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A day-by-day plan for the multi-day outing is not established. Divide the road between confirmed overnight stays and leave separate time for Lyskovo and town stops. The historic sporting cutoff and two starting windows do not define a comfortable visitor schedule. Allow for food, headwinds, repairs and verified alternatives.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry days without snow or ice are preferable, subject to permission for the required woodland connections. A cold spring can bring awkward surfaces and limited daylight. Plan water for open sections in summer and shorter daily stages in autumn.

Reliable lights and spare batteries
Reflective clothing elements
Tools, pump and spare tubes
