Route description

In the 2025 version, the journey to the Neman unfolds from the eastern side of the Brest circuit. The Mukhavets comes first, followed by the Beryoza direction and the Yaselda, before the road reaches Ruzhany. Holy Trinity Church near the central street offers a substantial historic pause before the northern river valleys. Through Zelva, the journey continues towards the Neman and Shchuchin. Here St Teresa Church, with its classical portico, and Archangel Michael Church stand close to the road. Beyond Shchuchin, the northern arc connects the Kotra valley with Skidel before meeting the Neman again. The Ros and Volkovysk side follow, and small towns gradually give way to woodland roads. The return passes through Porozovo, Shereshevo and Kamenets. Porozovo’s former synagogue and Trinity Church, St Nicholas Church in Shereshevo, and the Ossovsky Pharmacy and Vigutov House become successive stops in the final chapter. This version leaves the woodland arc and Kamenets architecture for the return—a good reason to pace the journey so its closing stages also enjoy daylight.

The palaces of Ruzhany, Kossovo and Shchuchin, Kamenets Tower and museum exhibitions need separate time and approaches. The churches here are roadside exterior references without assured interior entry. The journey does not establish Neman bank access or organised woodland overnight stays. Recheck shops and fuel stations at historic controls.

Without a car
Brest Central is the railway reference for arrival and departure. The fuel station on Aviatsionny Lane needs a separate urban approach. Confirm bicycle carriage and schedules. Avoid basing your return ticket on a sporting cutoff: the present journey depends on stages, rest and permitted connections.
By car
The beginning and return use Fuel Station No 17 at 20 Aviatsionny Lane as their reference. Check site rules for drop-off. Arrange support meetings in the order Ruzhany–Shchuchin–Skidel–Shereshevo. Woodland approaches and entry to the border zone need independent checks.
Parking
Present parking has not been confirmed. Agree a place for a longer stay in Brest, including vehicle collection if plans change. Leaving a car at the fuel station for the full outing has not been independently established.

The woodland return affects Bialowieza: confirm permitted roads and stops with its administration. Border-zone documents and passes depend on citizenship and permanent residence; the course stays within Belarus. Independent repairs, lights, traffic awareness and adequate rest matter throughout. Plan an early exit if fatigue increases.

A day-by-day plan for the multi-day outing is not established. Arrange accommodation between the eastern, northern and woodland sections, reserving daylight for small-town stops.
