Route description

Trans Belarus North begins outside Brest and ends outside Orsha. Its first part links Kamenets, Porozovo and Grodno, then continues through Ostrino, Yuratishki and the Ostrovets district toward Braslav, Polotsk and Gorodok. It is a journey across different parts of the country, rewarding pauses rather than being treated solely as an endurance test. Kamenets Tower is a definite historical destination near the beginning; later days are shaped by town approaches, rural roads and independent accommodation choices. The published variant was created for a cycling ultramarathon, while a touring journey needs its own relaxed timetable. Do not assume that former sporting control locations still offer lodging or assistance: check arrangements and present restrictions for your own departure.

SurfaceAsphalt 66%, Improved surface 4%, Compacted dirt 2%, Unknown 26%.
Риски The principal difficulties are long traffic-bearing roads, fatigue, weather and self-support. Check current restrictions on border-area sections before departure. Do not continue at night without working lights and sufficient energy; prepare a shorter day and backup accommodation.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 12–18 days
With stops | 18–24 days An independent bicycle-touring estimate with daily rest, not a sporting standard. The historical brevet had a ninety-hour control limit, not a sightseeing duration. Divide stages according to fitness and arrange accommodation and rest days beforehand.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose the longer daylight period from late spring to early autumn for the complete bicycle journey. Heat increases water needs; cold rain increases journey and rest time. Adjust stages to the forecast, especially on the longer northern tour.

What to bring
