Route description

This journey leaves western Brest for Kamenets and Grodno, continues toward northern Belarus and eventually reaches Orsha on the eastern side of the country. It is not confined to Kamenets and its surroundings: after an early stop at the medieval tower, the itinerary reaches Ostrino, Yuratishki, Ostrovets, Braslav, Polotsk and Gorodok. Its touring interest lies in distinct road days. Each town approach offers an opportunity to replenish supplies and add a planned visit beyond the main road. Independent preparation matters: accommodation, repairs and food are not included in the old sporting-event scheme. The endpoints are at outlying road-service areas, so arrival and departure also need planning. Divide the northern corridor into stages, leaving room for rest and short local excursions.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No By bike - Yes With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data The complete variant suits an experienced independent cycle tourist: plan long road stages, food, repairs and accommodation beforehand. Children, a dog and a stroller are unsuitable for the full journey. Continuous reception is unconfirmed.

Nearby

After a road stage, make a separate outing to the Old and New Castles in central Grodno: one is associated with Stefan Batory’s palace, the other with a royal residence and Sejm sessions. Unhurried Braslav and Polotsk visits likewise need time beyond the road stages.

SurfaceAsphalt 66%, Improved surface 4%, Compacted dirt 2%, Unknown 26%.
Риски The principal difficulties are long traffic-bearing roads, fatigue, weather and self-support. Check current restrictions on border-area sections before departure. Do not continue at night without working lights and sufficient energy; prepare a shorter day and backup accommodation.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 12–18 days
With stops | 18–24 days An independent bicycle-touring estimate with daily rest, not a sporting standard. The historical brevet had a ninety-hour control limit, not a sightseeing duration. Divide stages according to fitness and arrange accommodation and rest days beforehand.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose the longer daylight period from late spring to early autumn for the complete bicycle journey. Heat increases water needs; cold rain increases journey and rest time. Adjust stages to the forecast, especially on the longer northern tour.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
A touring bicycle, helmet, lights, spare tubes and repair kit.
