Route description

The journey begins on Gomel’s southern outskirts, passing the Church of Manefa of Gomel before heading through Sevruki to Chyonki. Tikhvin Church stands on Oktyabrskaya Street, with the Sozh crossing further ahead. Near Podbuglak, a memorial stone recalls settlements destroyed during the war. Beyond the Dnieper, the road enters Rechitsa. Pause on Rechitsa’s Sovetskaya Street, where the Trinity Catholic Church and Dormition Church stand close together. The approach also passes a monument to historian Mitrofan Dovnar-Zapolsky. Beyond town, the road leads through Ozershchina, Glybov and Milograd before turning towards Svetlogorsk. The Berezina and wooded surroundings of Vydritsa shape the northern section, followed by another Dnieper crossing near Zhlobin and a turn towards Buda-Koshelevo. In Chechersk, this version stays south of the town hall square, passing an old stable building. Add a separate town visit to see the hall and its museum. The main road continues through Zalesye and Nisimkovichi towards Svetilovichi and the Besed. Returning through Vetka and across the Iput completes a broad journey through Gomel country, linking village streets, churches and recurring river encounters.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceAsphalt 71%, Improved surface 4%, Gravel 1%, Unknown 23%.
Риски The main demands are sustained road travel, large junctions and maintaining attention after town stops. The course includes the M8, M10 and a substantial M5 section near Zhlobin. Current lawful bicycle passage along the entire line has not been confirmed: check available connections, signs and traffic arrangements at the Dnieper near Rechitsa before departure. Revise the relevant stage in advance if no safe permitted continuation is available. In Rechitsa, stay on the street: closed gates beside the churches lead into internal premises and are not through routes. Do not use service branches near Milograd or Babichi as shortcuts. Observe the current Vydritsa reserve restrictions and choose permitted rest areas. Cross railway lines only at operating designated crossings.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 1 d 13 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow several days for a journey with stops in Rechitsa, at river crossings and in Chechersk. Arrange stages and accommodation around Svetlogorsk, Zhlobin, Buda-Koshelevo and Chechersk according to your fitness. Allow additional time for museums and the connection between the different start and finish locations in Gomel. A verified overall touring duration is unavailable.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry conditions without snow or ice, with enough daylight for each planned stage. Water and rest between towns matter particularly in hot weather. In spring, check approaches to river crossings; in autumn, account for rain and the onset of darkness.
