Route description

This version leaves the road side of Dimshikan Ranger Station and follows a wooded pass passage towards Esso. Gorgachan and Ulavkavchan are named landmarks along the way, before the final section gradually returns to the inhabited valley. In the village, the path approaches the Uksichan River and the exterior side of the Bystrinsky Ethnographic Museum. Arrange the finish around a preselected Esso meeting. Its direction and village ending differ from the usual outing from Esso towards the ranger station; reaching the initial side requires separate arrangements. Follow the permitted woodland passage and organise park access beforehand.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - With caution With a dog - With caution By bike - No data With a stroller - No Mobile signal - Patchy The park advises against the main direction for children under ten. Supervise older children beside water and on the wet pass side. Keep dogs leashed. Cycling suitability is unconfirmed, and occasional published reception does not establish coverage throughout the ranger-station-to-village passage.

Nearby

The lookout towards Ikar Lake is a separate pass-side branch outside this walk. Dygeren-Olengende Volcano, Black Castle and other rocky places are distant views or separate outings. The ranger-station building lies near the start, with access inside and overnight accommodation unconfirmed. Esso’s thermal pools and Bear Museum need additional approaches; the ethnographic exhibition near the finish requires separate museum admission and arrangements.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Direct regular services to the ranger-station start are unconfirmed. Arrange a separate permitted approach or transfer from Esso, with a prearranged meeting after returning to the village. The passport allows different lower travel modes, so confirm the particular walking version and permitted drop-offs. Check intercity departures for your day separately.
By car
Base the road plan on Esso and the permitted woodland side of the ranger-station direction. Appropriate off-road vehicles are allowed there, but fords and the boggy pass section need a passability check. Agree the precise drop-off near the initial side and village meeting beforehand. Avoid new woodland detours or assuming that an ordinary car can cover the entire route.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Agree permitted vehicle locations near the ranger-station side and village finish separately. Keep cars off riverbanks and outside undesignated road areas. Leaving a vehicle in Esso still requires arrangements for reaching the initial side.

What to expect

Places
Gorgachan pavilion A named landmark on the pass’s woodland side. Shelter use depends on the area’s current condition; continue along the established passage.
Ulavkavchan pavilion A woodland landmark nearer the Esso side after the upper pass passage. Pause only if conditions and access are suitable.
Uksichan River at Esso The named watercourse on the final village side. Its banks mark the change from the woodland road to the inhabited valley.
Exterior side of the Bystrinsky Ethnographic Museum The museum side of Naberezhnaya Street near the finish. This is an external encounter; arrange access to the exhibition rooms separately after walking.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 181 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The passport describes water crossings and a wet boggy pass section. Check water levels and passage conditions for your day; a general equipment list mentioning bridges does not establish a safe crossing at every point. Rain makes woodland ground slippery, while vehicles and horse groups need space. Follow the current local passage on the final Uksichan side.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h 29 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Plan a day passage from the ranger-station side to Esso with a separate agreed initial approach. Complete duration is unconfirmed. Include the pass section, pauses beside safe woodland landmarks and the village finish. A museum exhibition visit takes extra time and depends on opening. The park’s times for different travel modes are not a single duration for the complete walk.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The summer route is published for June–October, subject to permitted access and opening. Check seasonal water levels, pass conditions and actual opening for your date. The current list marks the separate winter version closed, with different travel modes; this walking outing does not establish winter access.
