Route description

The Violet trail towards Stone Pillar is currently awaiting the next summer season; this older return walk cannot be treated as open without resort confirmation. Once access is authorised, it leads from the Stone Pillar hillside through Krasivy Pass to Rosa Peak. The setting unfolds gradually as rocky upper ground gives way to a more familiar resort path. The pass makes a natural place to pause and look back at Aibga. Reaching the summit itself requires a separate permitted approach and is not automatically included at the starting point.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
After access is confirmed, this return from Rosa Khutor’s eastern side becomes a walk in its own right. Krasivy Pass provides a pause between the high hillside and lively Rosa Peak. Take time to enjoy the mountain setting and reserve a separate Stone Pillar ascent for an open trail and suitable weather.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Public transport reaches the resort. Children need to handle a sustained mountain descent and remain with adults. Dog admission is unconfirmed; the Yavor passport warns of gaps in mobile coverage. Hunting dog breeds are prohibited in the national park; the park recommends leaving other pets at home too. Check any additional rules for the specific outing with the operator.

Nearby

The Stone Pillar summit lies off the beginning of this walk. The operator describes it as a high point of Rosa Khutor overlooking the Greater Caucasus and the Psou and Mzymta valleys. Save a separate ascent for confirmed opening of Violet. Paid suspension attractions near Rosa Peak are additional visits under their operator’s conditions.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Take a Lastochka train to Rosa Khutor station and the resort’s confirmed shuttle to Rosa Dolina. Continue on operating lifts to Rosa Peak and approach Krasivy Pass along the open Horizon trail. Arrange the return ascent from the far end by Edelweiss.
By car
Drive to Rosa Dolina in Esto-Sadok, then continue through the resort’s lifts and walking approach. Vehicle access to the pass itself is unconfirmed. Check Edelweiss operation before travelling so the finish does not require an unplanned long walk back.
Parking
P 1, P 3 and P 6 are confirmed official car parks in Rosa Dolina. Check current conditions before your visit. Vehicle parking at the mountain trail start is prohibited in the passport.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски In the Stone Pillar area, the Violet passport warns of a steep loose slope without steps or railings. Do not seek a bypass when the trail is closed. Once access is authorised, avoid loose hillside shortcuts, wet rocks and exposed ground during thunder. Confirm permission for the summit approach and this older return separately.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 51 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
If the resort authorises the complete return, allow one and a half to two hours for the descent to Rosa Peak with stops. This is for the short section only, excluding the approach to its start and any separate summit ascent. Do not plan the full outing while Violet remains closed. Add lift travel and waiting separately; overnight stays on the walking trail are prohibited.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
The upper trail passport gives June to October, but the current Violet page announces return in the next summer season. That statement does not provide an opening date or current permission. After reopening, choose clear, dry weather without thunder and ask about residual snow on the upper slope.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy shoes that hold the feet securely.
Optional walking poles for the sustained descent.
Rain protection, a warm layer and sun protection.
