Route description
From Paradise Meadow in Digoria, Karaugom reveals its austere side: ice and stone ridges separating the glacier from the valley slopes. This outing approaches the morainic surroundings of Gular before returning towards its starting area. The landscape makes the relationship between tributary glaciers and their moraines especially clear.
Choose this journey only as a prepared group with a leader capable of assessing ice conditions and planning a safe return. It enters the Karaugom glacier; permission for a sightseeing approach does not establish permission for this continuation. Agree the visit with the national park and border authorities beforehand. If conditions or permissions prevent progress, experience Karaugom from an authorised viewpoint without stepping onto the ice.
