Route description

This Caucasian Trail collection brings together mountain directions between the Prielbrusye,Teberda,Arkhyz and Nikitino sides. The eastern part starts high on Balk-Bashi and crosses valleys towards Epchik. A separate Teberda-side portion includes Mukhu. Upper Arkhyz paths link saddles and mountain bowls, with Lake Arkhyz and Fedoseev passes belonging to different parts. The western direction starts on the Nikitino side, crosses Blybsky Pass and continues through the upper Zagedan Lakes,Kynkhara and Agur sequence. Choose each part’s direction beforehand: the published order does not establish one uninterrupted passage. This branch remains described as unmarked. It interests experienced mountain walkers prepared to study individual crossings and agree access and returns separately.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car - Hard With children - No With a dog - No data By bike - No With a stroller - No Mobile signal - No data Some parts begin and end at high passes, requiring separate approaches and returns. The complete collection is for experienced mountain walkers. The current hiking branch excludes bicycles, horses and motor vehicles; a stroller is unsuitable. Dog rules throughout and continuous reception are unconfirmed.

Nearby

Arkhyz and Zagedan lakes need independently confirmed shore approaches; a pass name does not imply a lake circuit. Sofia Waterfalls, Lower Arkhyz churches and Elbrus summits are excluded from the selected pass-based parts. Visit them independently after checking access.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Verified public transport directly to the upper starts at Balk-Bashi or other passes is unavailable. Arrange delivery to an accessible inhabited valley and the walking approach separately for each selected part. The Nikitino,Teberda and Arkhyz sides require different return arrangements.
By car
End vehicle delivery on the permitted lower side of the selected crossing. The current hiking branch is not intended for motor vehicles. Road arrival near Arkhyz or Nikitino does not establish driving to every upper start and finish.
Parking
Verified current parking information for all these mountain parts is unavailable. Arrange lower-valley vehicle storage separately for the complete undertaking. Parking on passes or beside shepherd buildings is unestablished.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Unmarked junctions, stony passes and mountain crossings require independent navigation and a turn-back reserve. Do not connect separate parts by an unknown direct route: complete permitted passage between them is unestablished. Snow and ice may remain at high starts; select equipment after checking each crossing. Confirm rules for protected and border territories under the actual plan beforehand.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 d 15 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Time for the route | Unestablished With stops | Unestablished Complete duration of a multi-day undertaking across the selected parts is not established. An established stage allowance from another republic does not time these unmarked Karachay-Cherkessia parts. Define approaches, descents, overnight stops, water, food and valley exits separately for selected crossings. A day-by-day plan is not established.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Ordinary walking requires snow-free lower paths and checked upper saddles. Lingering snow, rain and storms can alter any pass day. A neighbouring ready stage’s opening does not establish access throughout this branch; a winter passage is independently unestablished.

Mountain footwear, wind and rain protection and a spare warm layer.
