Route description

Trail access from the Eastern Entrance has been prohibited since 11 September 2026 because of bear activity. The Red approach to Little Golden Eagle is also absent from the park's list of independently approved itineraries. Little Golden Eagle changes character with the viewing angle: its outline resembles the an inverted L from one direction and a bird of prey's profile from another. The Red approach heads west from the Eastern Entrance towards this rock, giving it a different focus from the China Wall walk. It is an appealing subject for a future visit to a less familiar corner of the Takmak district, once an authorised route becomes available. Reaching the summit is a climbing undertaking; the distinctive shape can be appreciated from the ground.

By car
Approach the Eastern Entrance via Bazayskaya Street, using the national park entrance as your destination. At present, drive here for a permitted Granite Quarry visit only, without continuing onto closed trails.
Parking
The Eastern Entrance has a designated car park. Use marked spaces and follow signs on site; parking does not grant access to a closed trail.
