Route description

This extended outing links the Son Amer area with the old direction towards Pollença and climbs to Puig Tomir and Moleta de Binifaldó. The Son Amer hermitage and Coll Pelat introduce the walk; farther on, woodland paths connect with separate upper directions. Tomir, the ruined snow store and Moleta add a mountain component to the GR 221 corridor before the walk returns towards Son Amer. Branches and repeated passages need an advance itinerary using the paths currently open.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Spend several trekking days around Lluc to explore its different places: an old road with a named pine, a small hermitage and two summits. The snow store beside Tomir supplies a particular reminder of former mountain work. Give woodland stops and summit outings their own time instead of trying to combine everything into a short excursion.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car: Hard With children: No With a dog: No data By bike: No With a stroller: No Mobile signal: No data Experience in independent mountain walking, junction choices and rocky ground is needed. The upper branches are more demanding than the ordinary GR 221 walking stage. This version is unsuitable for an ordinary family outing or a stroller. Check dogs, animal accommodation rules and reliable signal separately.

Nearby

Visit Lluc Monastery on a separate approach from the Son Amer area. Pont Romà Refuge near Pollença ends the ordinary GR 221 stage rather than this returning mountain version. Binifaldó’s environmental education centre and Coma de Binifaldó Refuge need separate checks of access and visitor arrangements. Arrange a particular overnight place rather than relying on an arbitrary woodland camp.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Seasonal TIB231 passes through Lluc between the Sóller direction and the island’s north-east. Check the operating season and services for the specific date; the line does not establish year-round travel. Reach Son Amer on a separate walking approach. For a multi-day outing, check transport on the finishing date as well as on arrival.
By car
Son Amer’s official refuge page gives road access by Ma-10 or Ma-2130 from Caimari. Choose the walking start around the refuge; summit directions remain pedestrian. For several days, ask about leaving the car for the entire outing and arrange the return to the lower area.
Parking
Son Amer Parking Area is mapped near the lower start. Ask whether you may use it for the full trek and check signs on arrival. Vacancies, security and current payment arrangements have not been established. Avoid leaving a car on the narrow refuge access or at closed gates if your chosen space is unavailable.

Puig Tomir one of the extended outing’s two summit destinations.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1815 м.
SurfaceDirt 28%, Gravel 17%, Asphalt 6%, Unknown 45%.
Риски The Tomir and Moleta climbs are more demanding than the ordinary woodland stage. A personal Tomir account describes the rocky Pedregaret passage with chains and metal steps; establish their current condition before departure. Rocks, loose ground and fog complicate movement. At junctions, distinguish the main path from your chosen upper branch and retain a clear return option.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 14 h 51 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow 2–3 days of trekking, choosing the order of the woodland direction and both upper outings separately. Book overnight accommodation beforehand: Son Amer requires reservations, and a mapped shelter is not automatically available. Check the weather before a morning summit outing. Leave out an unsuitable branch when conditions change; the ordinary Son Amer–Pont Romà stage’s time does not cover this extended trek.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose suitable mountain paths, dry weather and enough daylight. Spring and autumn help avoid heat, but rain and strong wind can rule out the upper outings. Start early and carry water in summer. Check particular path openings on the current Consell map and with the protected area’s staff.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Grippy mountain walking boots
Water and food for each chosen day
Warm clothing, wind protection and rain protection
A map of all branches, charged phone and power bank
A torch and personal first-aid kit
Equipment for the overnight stay you have arranged
A bag for taking litter away
