Route description

Arico Nuevo’s historical square begins a long ascent towards El Contador. Before leaving the village, study the exterior of Nuestra Señora de la Luz Church and neighbouring traditional streets. Rural surroundings gradually give way to higher slopes and pine country. The selected path has actual channel crossings at Barranco de Tamadaya and Barranco los Colorados. Observe them as parts of the island’s terrain; they do not promise a waterfall or permanent flowing water. Near the ending stand the named Casas del Contador houses, followed by a forest recreation stop where a pause depends on current rules. This expanded version includes repeated village sections; confirm the permitted continuation near the beginning beforehand. Arrange the El Contador return before departing too. Old village façades, ravines and a forest ending can then be enjoyed without depending on finding unplanned transport late in the day.

Route suitability
