Route description

High Teide cañadas, Guajara Pass and old Arico Nuevo streets reveal different sides of southern Tenerife. The initial roadside branch offers an exterior view of Las Cañadas del Teide Parador. At the actual Degollada de Guajara, the old Chasna way recalls a connection between the island’s opposite sides. Clear weather makes the change from open volcanic uplands to southern slopes especially striking. Lower down, pine sections give way to rural paths and streets. The final part passes historical Arico Nuevo, where the square and Nuestra Señora de la Luz church façade deserve an unhurried pause. Traditional houses make the ending an outing into the island’s rural past. This expanded multi-day version includes branches and connections whose order needs agreeing before departure. Choose individually checked daily stages with permitted links, confirmed nights and a clear transport exit. The coast and Guajara summit are outside the selected programme.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Some branch sequences and safe links need a separate ground check against a current plan. Do not replace them with shortcuts across slopes or closed sections. Account for steepness, stones, cold at the pass, sun on open uplands and long descents. Check forest passages after rain or fire. Water, energy and daylight reserves must suit the actually selected stage.

Best time to go

Choose moderate weather and open mountain and forest passages. The saddle can be cold, snowy or icy even when the lower village is warm; low cloud hides views. Check summer fire restrictions and carry water. Strong wind or rain requires reassessing the actual stage.
