Route description

From Son Bugadelles, this bicycle outing enters western Mallorca, where village churches stand beside roads crossing named passes. Stop at Carme Church in Es Capdellà before climbing towards Galilea. A northern extension adds Coll des Grau and Coll d’en Portell. Returning towards the western districts through Coll dels Tords, the surroundings change again from mountain roads to areas nearer the coast. Finish north of Son Ferrer, separately from the start. Allow a full cycling day for the sequence of places, short visits and an unhurried return.

Route at a glance

Главное за минуту
Choose this extended Esglesietes de Ponent version for roads over named mountain passes and a cultural stop at Carme Church. Galilea and the northern extension give it its own character. Visiting Galilea’s parish church requires a separate turn: its façade is beyond the street ridden in this version.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
Without a car: Hard With children: With caution With a dog: No data By bike: Yes With a stroller: No Mobile signal: No data The full version suits cyclists accustomed to sustained climbs, descents and ordinary road traffic. Choose a shorter outing for a beginner child. A protected cycle path throughout has not been established. Arrange transport and return between the different endpoints beforehand.

Nearby

Galilea’s Immaculate Conception parish church lies slightly off the ride. Make a separate approach to its stone portal and sundial from the Ses Timbes road, checking access. Sant Joan Baptista Church in Calvià also needs an additional turn. Sa Pedra Sagrada chapel belongs to the official Esglesietes de Ponent itinerary, but its visit is not established in this version. Climbing Galatzó summit is a separate walking outing.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 2112 м.
SurfaceAsphalt 90%, Improved surface 1%, Dirt / grass 1%.
Риски Save energy for successive climbs and control speed before bends on descents. Oncoming cars, house entrances and limited sight lines need attention even on a quiet-looking road. Slow down near pedestrians in villages. With strong wind or worsening weather, shorten the outing using a safe departure planned beforehand.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 9 h 8 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow a full day of cycling with an early start, a pause at Carme Church and time for the northern extension. Decide where to finish early if you become tired. A church interior visit or separate approach to Galilea’s church adds time. Collection or your own return is needed after the finish; the outing does not complete a circle at its starting point.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry weather with moderate temperatures and light wind. An early start helps in heat, but the long outing still needs spare water. Leave enough daylight for mountain descents in the cooler season. Handle bends and road markings cautiously after rain.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
A sound bicycle with reliable brakes and a helmet
Water and food for a long cycling day
A wind layer for stops and descents
