Route description

The walk begins in western Pınara and heads towards the wooded slopes on the Babadağ side. The Lycian city, known for rock-cut tombs and acropolises, provides a historical setting before attention shifts to the forest path. This departure shows how closely ancient settlements and mountain landscapes meet here. The selected passage runs west from Pınara and finishes in the upper woodland area. It does not reach Babadağ’s summit; arrange the onward exit and return before setting out.

Риски The forest path and local unpaved roads require careful navigation. The finish is not a verified vehicle collection point, so establish the onward exit beforehand. Avoid unstable masonry and climbing onto rock tombs in the archaeological area. Confirm dog admission separately. Check local forest-access restrictions and current fire conditions.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h 49 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
Allow an estimated 3–5 hours for the walking passage with pauses. This is an editorial estimate for the selected forest outing. Detailed exploration of Pınara, an onward walk from the upper finish to an accessible road and return transport are additional. Start in the first half of the day with daylight in reserve.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Cool, dry spring and autumn weather is preferable. The Fethiye alternative-path season generally runs February–June and September–November, subject to local restrictions. Exposed parts of the ancient city can be hot in summer. Check Pınara’s visiting hours separately from woodland access.
