Route description

From Cañada del Montón de Trigo, the path climbs towards the saddle between Pasajirón and Guajara. It follows part of the old Chasna way, which connected Tenerife’s northern and southern sides. This apparently short outing is a real mountain ascent: the caldera basin falls behind, while the pass opens views across the park and the island’s southern side. Degollada de Guajara is a natural place to pause before deciding on any continuation. Barranco del Río begins here, giving a clear sense of crossing between opposite sides of the mountain wall. This version ends at the saddle. Include the lower-road approach, return and any onward summit journey in an independent plan; the pass itself offers views and the history of an old island connection.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски The ascent needs attention to rock, loose ground and steepness. Wind, fog and cold at the saddle can quickly change a short outing. Do not begin a summit continuation without independently assessing conditions and reserve energy. Check snow, ice, weather and temporary closures beforehand; water and time must also cover the return.
