Route description

From Degollada de Pico Viejo, the selected path descends Los Regatones Negros towards the northern Roques de García rocks. It brings volcanic Teide close to the ground: solidified lava forms, sharp stone edges and high-mountain shrubs become part of each step. A calm, assured pace matters more than reaching the bottom quickly. Vegetation changes as you descend. The actual Roques de García rocks and their walking-network connection appear towards the end. This version finishes before the roadside area. Agree the upper approach, mandatory booking and subsequent return beforehand: the path does not include a Pico Viejo or Teide summit ascent.

Nearby

Pico Viejo’s summit and crater require independent visits. Teide summit has its own path and separate permission. La Ruleta Viewpoint, the Parador and the remaining Roques de García rocks belong to additional lower exits and outings beyond this selected descent.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
TITSA routes 342 and 348 provide lower arrival in the Parador del Teide area. No bus at the upper saddle is established: reaching it needs an independent permitted mountain plan. Add the lower walk to a stop separately. Agree the whole day with current services and mandatory path bookings.
By car
Arrange independent driving to the roadside of the complete outing. The upper saddle has no vehicle access; independently plan its approach and lower return. Do not assume a cable-car ticket automatically permits or includes access to this beginning.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Vehicle spaces at the upper beginning or interior lower ending are unestablished. Choose permitted roadside parking for the complete outing, approach and return.
