Route description

From the northern Parador footpath, Majúa heads across open Cañada Blanca towards the foot of Teide. This version follows the familiar path in reverse: Montaña Majúa’s volcanic cone becomes the final goal rather than the first impression. Low shrubs and solidified materials invite a close look at the scenery without adding a summit. Near Majúa, the pale pumice cone and surrounding lava forms are especially interesting. The path skirts their exterior; crater entry or a climb to the top is outside this outing. Mountain-shrub flowering depends on season and weather, so the setting can look different each time. The route ends on the Majúa side within the walking network. Reaching the lower cable-car roadside needs an independent approach. Plan the bus-return direction or vehicle recovery beforehand, leaving time for an unhurried final look.

Nearby

Parador, Cañada Blanca Visitor Centre and neighbouring Roques de García need independent visits. The Sanatorio path, Montaña Blanca ascent and upper Teide trails require separate plans. Individual old pastoral remains are not presented as confirmed named stops here.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
TITSA publishes routes 342 and 348 to Parador del Teide and the lower Teleférico del Teide area. Both roadside stops are confirmed but separate from the selected walking ends. By car
Arrange arrival at a permitted Parador roadside or the lower cable-car station. Walk to the chosen end. Check mountain roads, collection and vehicle recovery first; the natural path is not a vehicle route.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Open sun, wind, cold and altitude need water and clothing reserves even on an easy-terrain walk. Stones and loose volcanic ground may slow progress. Avoid shortcuts through the cone or lava and assess roadside approaches separately. Check weather and conservation closures and recovery timing.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 1 hr 30 min–2 hr
With stops | 2–2 hr 30 min The published reference of around an hour and a half applies to the ordinary downhill direction. These intervals are editorial allowances for the selected reverse direction and calm observation. Roadside approaches, returning to the first end and transport waiting are additional.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose dry weather, moderate wind and an open path. Shrub flowering is not guaranteed. Summer needs sun protection and carried water; winter needs snow, ice and road checks. Upland cold is possible outside winter too.
