Route description

A prolonged Opalikha run lets you exchange northern woodland for the Moscow River’s island side and then reach Podushkino Forest in a single day. Voronoy Ford Stream appears beside the opening passage. The journey then reaches Lohin Island, where a short bridge approach visits part of the protected island territory before returning to the onward route. This is not a complete island circuit or a separate visit to Glukhaya Yama Lake. Beyond the Moscow River side and settlement road portions, this version selects its own western approach into Podushkino Forest. The Odintsovo-1 archaeological place lies beside the woodland continuation, followed by Sominka Stream and Lazutinka’s Central Glade. The concluding portion passes Betonka, Forest Lake and Pear Pond before reaching Pionerskaya’s railway side. This is the author’s older western version; the later spring-side rest version uses a different woodland continuation.

Route suitability

Кому будет комфортно
For experienced runners prepared for prolonged exertion and independent selection of permitted woodland passages. The complete course is not offered as a children’s walk. Lazutinka restricts dog walking to designated areas and prohibits it on sporting courses. Lohin Island allows pedestrians and cyclists, but that does not establish full bicycle or stroller access along this entire continuation.

Nearby

Glukhaya Yama Lake and other Lohin Island areas require separate visits; this course’s short approach does not replace an island walk. Arkhangelskoye Estate has its own admission arrangements. The author originally associated the western version with Markov’s craters, then proposed a different reconstructed spring-side rest place from 2022 onwards. That spring approach has not been added to this older version. Arrange Lazutinka facilities and extra training loops separately.

Getting there

Варианты и важные моменты Show on map
Without a car
Start from Opalikha on MCD-2 after a separate platform approach to the departure side. The conclusion is beside Pionerskaya railway halt on the Belorussky direction. Use an authorised platform approach and select a train that stops there. Intermediate Gorki-6, Ilyinskoye and Zhukovka-1 road stops exist, while any shorter exit requires independently checked current services and a safe road approach.
By car
Arrange a lawful Opalikha road-side drop-off and collection beside Pionerskaya railway halt after the complete outing. The locations differ, so plan a return to any car separately. Private cars are not admitted to Lohin Island, and vehicles are prohibited inside Odintsovo Park. Do not use woodland paths for car support.
Parking
Parking is unconfirmed. Determine lawful Opalikha arrival and Pionerskaya return arrangements before travelling. Do not leave a vehicle beside the island bridge, woodland entrances or station crossings.

Sominka Stream the open watercourse side near the Lazutinka continuation.
Central Glade an actual named Odintsovo Park clearing beside the passage.
Betonka an actual woodland waterbody in the concluding portion.
Forest Lake a real waterbody beside the railway-bound continuation, without promising bathing.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 461 м.
SurfaceDirt 43%, Asphalt 18%, Fine gravel 7%, Unknown 24%.
Риски The prolonged continuation, island visit with a return and woodland junctions require spare energy and dependable navigation. Check the bridge before entering the island; do not replace it with wading or crossing ice. Remain off sensitive vegetation in the protected territory, avoid fire and do not seek shortcuts through wet places. Leave archaeological mounds intact. Follow markings on sporting paths; prepared winter ski lanes are not for walking. Cross roads and railway lines using authorised passages.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 6 h 1 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
The full duration of this specific western version is not established. Plan a substantial independent outing, including the island visit and return, woodland surfaces, crossings and train home. Historical group rest stops and pace are neither current services nor a confirmed duration. Retain spare daylight for the woodland portion before Pionerskaya.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Dry, snow-free weather with passable woodland paths and an open bridge approach is preferable. Prolonged rain or high water can change low ground and approaches. Start in cooler conditions and carry water in summer, with spare daylight in autumn. Check winter running access for the entire course separately because of snow, ice and Lazutinka’s skiing regime.

Water and familiar nutrition for a sustained outing
