Route description

The ski expedition begins in the Sredny Sakukan valley and climbs into the western mountain circuit. It crosses Baltic Pass, 25 Years of Soviet Latvia Pass, the Pass of Four and Bear Pass before returning to the valley approach. It then continues east through Murzilka, the Yagelny and Apsat valleys towards Upper Muskunna and the Byyiki basin. Beyond Outer Pass it reaches the icy Orto-Yuryakh canyon and finishes on the road direction towards Kyust-Kemda. Prepare the complete multiday winter journey, including connections between individual stages. Technical snowy passes, glacial valleys and the canyon require advanced mountain competence. Obtain the national park permit and agree the selected programme beforehand. Historical travel does not establish present snow, ice, protection points or road meeting.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Passes may involve steep snow ascents, rocky descents and rope protection. Assess crevasses, waterfall steps, cavities beneath ice and open water on glaciers and in the canyon. Avalanche conditions, blizzards and severe cold may require abandoning a stage. Check stage connections and the external exit separately. Historical slings, pitons and group traces do not establish reliable protection.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 1 d 14 h
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A day-by-day plan is not established for this multiday winter expedition. Complete present duration is unknown. Confirm permitted stages, stays, technical descents, weather margin and final departure. The historical diary helps identify destination order but does not guarantee a modern schedule.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Consider a prepared winter ski programme after checking snow, ice and forecast. Spring warmth changes river ice, water and slope stability. A historical spring title does not establish a safe repetition date.
