Route description

This substantial Kodar ski journey links western pass valleys with an eastern Orto-Yuryakh exit. Starting in the Sredny Sakukan valley, it follows the mountain circuit through Baltic Pass, 25 Years of Soviet Latvia Pass, the Pass of Four and Bear Pass. Returning to the valley approach is followed by onward travel through Murzilka towards Yagelny and Apsat. It then crosses the Upper Muskunna side and Outer Pass into the Orto-Yuryakh basin. The icy canyon forms a distinct part of the eastern conclusion. It finishes on the road direction towards Kyust-Kemda, without a confirmed present meeting. Obtain the park permit and agree the entire selected programme before preparing. It is a demanding independent expedition combining skiing with technical mountain passages.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainДанные по набору высоты уточняются.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Pass ascents and rocky descents may require specialist protection. River ice can hide cavities, water and waterfall steps; glaciers require assessment of crevasses and present snow. A prepared group must assess avalanches and select protection. Historical pace is unsuitable as a goal in fog, blizzards or severe cold. Change unsafe connections or exits through a developed alternative plan.

How much time to allow

A day-by-day plan is not established for this multiday winter journey. Complete present duration is unknown. Develop stays, technical stages, weather margin, permitted exits and final departure. Historical dated stages confirm the journey’s character but do not replace a modern programme.
