Route description

The mountain approach starts at the end of the road section in the Slyudyanka valley and crosses Chertovy Gate towards the Utulik and Dabaty. Beyond the open pass, river valleys return, followed by a climb between valleys towards the Khara-Murin. This is a separate walking portion of a 2007 journey, ending before the Khara-Murin itself. Reaching that river needs independent preparation outside this programme. The main impressions come from the contrast between the saddle and remote mountain rivers. Crossings, vegetation, changing paths and independent stays make this an experienced group’s undertaking. It does not finish at a road or establish an immediate onward water journey.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1925 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Assess crossings of the Utulik, Dabaty and other streams against current levels. Avoid flooding and do not assume a historical ford remains safe. The ascent from Dabaty includes steep slope passages; wet ground and rock need care. Paths may disappear in vegetation, and the onward Khara-Murin exit needs separate development.

How much time to allow

Расчётное время в пути 16 h 50 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A day-by-day plan is not established for this multiday journey. Confirm stays, crossings and departure after the finish, then divide valley and pass stages. Complete duration is unknown; historical trip timings do not replace a present plan.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose walking after checking water levels and the mountain forecast. Summer rain can rapidly change river conditions. Early snow, autumn cold and winter repetition need different preparation and reassessment of every crossing.
