Route description

From the Chertovo Lake area, the mountain passage heads west and then turns towards Bosan and Margasanskaya Hill. Open ridges, successive climbs and named summit visits make this an independent journey inside Khamar-Daban. Clear weather on Bosan may reveal distant parts of the traversed mountains; Margasanskaya Hill supplies the final natural destination. Some upper connecting passages need additional checking, so develop a complete safe programme before departure. Arrange the remote approach, water, accommodation and eventual return separately. The finish is on a summit rather than beside a road or settlement.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание

Риски Some upper connections need separate checking. Rocky ridges, traverses and repeated climbs demand more energy than simple valley walking. Fog and wet rock may require a shorter programme. Avoid unstable ladders and upper boulders on Bosan; their historical presence does not establish safety. Arrange water and safe exits beforehand.
