Route description

In upper Karakol Valley, the path turns towards Telety and gradually leaves the woodland for open slopes. Across the pass, the western side of the range descends into upper Jeti-Oguz. The appeal is the change of valleys: rather than retracing a familiar gorge, you arrive on the other side of the Terskey Ala-Too. The walk finishes in the upper mountain valley; save the famous red rocks near the resort for a separate visit farther downstream.
