Route description

Leaving upper Jeti-Oguz, the journey heads to Archa-Tor, the crossing onto the Chon-Kyzyl-Suu side. Open slopes and the mountain saddle make it a distinct part of exploring the Terskey Ala-Too. Beyond the pass, the route descends into the western valley, where overnight and exit arrangements need to be settled beforehand. Neighbouring gorges become separate worlds, and returning to the familiar tourist area no longer shapes the entire outing.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 1291 м.
SurfaceТип покрытия пока не определён.
Риски Snow or rain slows both sides of the high saddle. Check water crossings afresh rather than adopting conditions from an older description. Weather changes quickly; a safe overnight site and spare time matter more than completing a daily schedule.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Time for the route 2–3 days
With stops | 3–4 days Allow stages for the approach, crossing and Chon-Kyzyl-Suu exit. A local operator offers the comparable reverse-direction crossing as a three-day trip. Add the vehicle approaches and any lower Jeti-Oguz rock visit separately.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose summer after checking pass snow. The operator offers trips from late June, but readiness varies by year. September or October requires a fresh local forecast and warmer overnight equipment.

What to bring

Базовый список для комфортного похода
Bring mountain footwear, poles and protection from rain and wind.
Carry a tent, warm sleeping bag and mat or confirm every overnight stop.
