Route description

In upper Djukuchak, a trek can change direction and cross the neighbouring spur into Ashu-Kashka-Suu. This variant links two river valleys before reaching the main Terskey Ala-Too divide. After the saddle ascent, the descent returns to running water and reveals another approach deeper into the mountains. It works particularly well as a compact, meaningful stage in a longer journey. The river landmarks change quickly: Djukuchak gives way to the spur slope, then Ashu-Kashka-Suu becomes the new axis of travel. Continue along that valley or finish the stage by the river with the next exit arranged beforehand. The start already lies high in Djukuchak; access from the lakeside settlements remains a separate approach.

Difficult sections and safety

На что обратить внимание
Elevation gainСуммарный набор высоты — 759 м.
SurfaceDirt 99%.
Риски The spur ascent and descent need confident mountain walking and navigation. Check trail conditions, saddle snow and river crossings before departure. This crossing has not been matched securely to the named Ashutor Pass; a neighbouring pass passport should not be applied solely because it mentions the same valleys.

How much time to allow

Оцените свой темп
Расчётное время в пути 3 h 4 min
С запасом на остановки + 30–60 мин
A preliminary allowance is one walking day for a fit group, with reserve for descent, pauses and navigation. No completion time has been published for this exact variant. Treat the long Djukuchak approach and onward Ashu-Kashka-Suu travel as separate stages.

Best time to go

Сезонность и рекомендации
Choose a warm period once the saddle is free of snow. No precise seasonal passport has been found for this short link; ask locally about the spur and river levels. Heavy rain or fog is a reason to postpone while retaining a practical return option.
